Letter from the Director, July 2026

Dear friends,

We thank you so much for your ongoing support of Sante Total. The situation in Haiti continues to be very difficult despite international efforts to address the situation.  Our Haitian partners Gaby, Berteau, and so many others, are courageously struggling on to improve their community and to help people despite the terrible conditions.

The community is struggling with food insecurity, inflation, political instability and gang violence in the capital and gas, food and medication shortages.  Despite the difficulties, people go to work and to church, kids go to school, and life goes on in Jacsonville.  Progress is slower than we hoped it would be, but Sante Total is doing our best to continue our work in the community. In the past year, we have:

1. Formed a new committee which meets biweekly to address the barriers to opening the clinic with the hope that we will be able to provide services soon.

2.  Spent over $5000 supporting the medical needs of members of the community, including medical visits, surgery and medication.

3.  Provided daily year-round meals to over 200 children at the St. Rose of Lima School through the ongoing support of St. Thomas of Villanova Parish.

4. Supported the weekly meetings and food distribution at CHEAHP, the Center for the Elderly and Handicapped in Jacsonville,  as well as supporting their annual Christmas party.

5.  Provided administrative support for the fund-raising group for the St. Rose of Lima School which raised over $35,000 last year.

6.  Obtained a grant to help build a computer lab at the school.

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!  Please continue to support our efforts to help the conditions in Haiti improve!
