This giving Tuesday, please consider Sante Total to make a donation! See the attached letter from Dr. Barbara Weis about our year in review:
Dear friends of Sante Total,
Mesi Anpil (thank you so much), for your generous donations of time, energy, and money, and your willingness to help!
I write this letter with a heart full of admiration for our friends and colleagues in Haiti. Without your help, we would not have been able to support the wide range of projects that are currently running in Jacsonville. Yes, we are still working there despite the current unrest!
We hope that you will continue to support us this holiday season! You can do this by making an immediate donation on our sidebar or sending a check to the address listed.
2019 Accomplishments:
-Completed two week-long medical clinics: We completed over 700 visits and helped 4 insulin-dependent diabetics buy their life-saving insulin. We also provided over $3000 to help patients pay for their surgery and medications.
-The permanent clinic is almost finished: A major Thank You to the Rotary Club of Ellicott City!
As I am writing this letter, Gaby and his team are completing one of the final construction phases and laying the floor tiles! The next step will be furnishing and staffing.
-School Lunch Program and School Water Project: We provided three lunches a week for the 200 Elementary School students and the Rotary Club of Ellicott City repaired the school water project.
-CHEAHP (Center for the Handicapped and Aged of Pignon): We supported weekly meetings, monthly meals and a Holiday party for the center.
–Sustainable Agriculture: John Gallini and his family provided over $2000 for a fruit-bearing tree project and there is a plow and oxen project starting next year!
–Educational Support: We supported the training of one nursing and two teaching students in the first half of the year and have added one University student (Maisson), who will study education, and a medical student for the fall, which means over $10,000 a year in support!
Despite all of our accomplishments, there is so much more to do! We hope that you will think of the people of Jacsonville, Haiti, during this season of giving and share generously to support the projects needed to improve their quality of life.
Here’s to the hope that someday soon, we will work ourselves out of a job!
I wish you all a Happy Holiday season and safe journeys!
